“The grand finale of the FREEDOM PROJECT KOLEKCJA exhibition, marking its fourth and final show in the United States. It will be held at the National Historic Landmark Central Library — Boston Public Library founded in 1848.
The Library features spectacular murals by John Singer Sargent, Edwin Austin Abbey, and Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, along with works by renowned sculptors and painters. It now holds over 23 million items, including first edition Shakespeare folios, original music scores from Mozart to Prokofiev, and President John Adams’ personal library.
This exhibition holds special significance as it coincides with the United States’ 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, offering a rare chance to experience both the library’s rich history and the FREEDOM PROJECT KOLEKCJA exhibition in this momentous year.”
FREEDOM PROJECT KOLEKCJA is a response to crises and ongoing global conflicts humanity is facing today.
Artists were invited to speak up on issues related to human rights, war, violence, social and racial injustice. The mission of this important and timely project is to educate and to create a dialogue between the viewer and the artist in this crucial time of human history.
The collection features artworks created by international artists from 22 countries:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Peru, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, UK, USA, and Zimbabwe working in: book art, calligraphy, collage, drawing, fiber art, handmade paper, mixed media, painting, photography, and poster design.
