8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018
in the Clock Tower Library
Theme: Memento Mori
Time: 14 June – 8 July 2019
Location: The Plunge Municipal Clock Tower Library, Lithuania
We were invited to show the “8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” in the Clock Tower Library in Plunge, in the North of Lithuania.
The Clock Tower was built as a small Palace by Count Zubov in 1846. It is the oldest red brick building in Plunge. The Clock Tower built “in style” of Palazzo Vecchio of Florence, Italy. The Palace has a 12-metre clock tower with a clock in it, made by French clockmaker G. L. Amant, which can be seen from any angle. The clock in the bell tower rings every hour. In 1873, Duke Mykolas Oginskis purchased the Plunge Manor from Platon Zubov. In the park of palace in 1879 he built a new magnificent, no-renaissance style (architect Charles Lorenzo) Palace. The Clock Tower, after renovation in 2012, started serving as the premise for Plunge Municipal Public Library.
