  2. Bo Beck says:

Dear Kestutis Vasiliunas and other Jury members of the 6th International Artist’s Book Triennal Vilnius 2012

I have been following the Artist’s Book Triennal since 2003 and found the exhibitions very interesting.

But this Year I can see, that three of the International Jury members (Kestutis Vasiliunas, Hanne Matthiesen and Joseph Johannes Visser) actually participate in the exhibition with works selected by themselves as jury members.

    How do you justify this?

I find this is a contradiction to the general rule of the jury members independence and it weakens the status of the exhibition.

    Best wishes
    Bo Beck

  3. Dear Bo Beck,

You are absolutely right about the jury members (myself included) taking part as if selected in the exhibition!
This however has not been meant to be so.
Our, little, ‘extra’ was and is rather to been seen as ‘a signature’ at the end of the list of those we accepted, in order to make visible to the artists and the public (‘visible’ as works of art do) what our particular background is – the background from which we made our personal and arguable decissions.

    sincerely yours,
    Joseph J. Visser Esq.
